Petra has recently witnessed a significant increase in the number of visitors from all over the world, The number of visitors to Petra Archaeological Park has surpassed one million this year, a new record for the site.

We are delighted to see more enthusiasts exploring the wonders of this beautiful ancient rose-red city, The year 2019 is indeed special year for Petra, as we inaugurated the brand new Museum in April 2019, under the patronage of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein Bin Abdullah II.

The Petra Museum has become a new landmark of Petra, and we have been receiving many positive feedbacks from the visitors, The Museum can greatly enhance the tourists’ experiences in Petra, and also attract the local communities as their cultural and social hub.

This is a “living museum”, serving for not only foreign tourists but also local people and students. It is worth mentioning that the Petra Museum is already receiving the largest number of visitors in the Kingdom.

The Petra Museum Website gathers the essential information that you need to know and understand about Petra and its glorious ancient civilizations.

The Website can be your navigator not only for the tour inside the Museum but also at the Petra Archaeological Park or anywhere else. Lastly, I would like to express my deepest gratitude for all the experts and staff who worked hard for developing this Website.

I particularly would like to express my sincere appreciation to Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), JICA has been a great supporter of the Petra Museum and this Website is the sympol of our collaborative works.
